BW Survival AU - lesson 5

She will admit she was careless.

The woods around Nuvema looked especially beautiful today, some rare beams of sunlight catching the icicles on the bare branches. She brought her gaze higher, taking a few steps back when she bumped into him!

She yelped, startled then terrified, flailing then falling in a clumsy heap! Haze & Snow were by her side in an instant, but the man didn’t touch one Poké Ball (though he instinctively reached for them, just as startled).

Slowly, very slowly, he rose his other hand to say, “I’m not going to hurt you.”

They froze, catching their breath from the fright. As she looked in his eyes, every breath felt like an eternity…

His name was Ikrit.

He said their great-great grandmothers were friends, & that they were friends with a Unovan man who was friends with…her somehow?

She could scarcely believe it. Could she even chance believing him? But then…how else could he know she was friends with Ingo? She heard he had disappeared about 7 years ago from townsfolk. Could he truly have been in the past, in a completely different region?

He spoke to her in the same language she was born speaking (from Hoenn, he said…Fallarbor Town), & the Froslass who accompanied him seemed oddly familiar…as was the impeccably neat handwriting in the old letter she held in her icy fingers. It matched the script in the journal he offered as further proof, as well as the train postcard she still kept with her few belongings to read when she was feeling sad.

She paused, thinking.

Her first instinct was to make a run for it - have Haze create an illusion while Snow used Blizzard to offer more cover for them to disappear. That was still an option. The only reason she hadn’t already was something about the way he spoke to her - kindly, directly, without suspicion or fear.

Is Reshiram…telling her that this one was okay…?

…It has been a long, long time since she had a human friend…& maybe this strong, intelligent trainer could help her put things right in this region…

She can always disappear later if it turned out he was bad.

Lesson 5: Find safe people…but be careful.

A/N: Even in this very sad timeline, Ansy still met her Valentine (Happy Valentine’s Day!) 💌

It’s funny to think about how Ingo & Ansy’s fates seem tied together between DxP REWRITE & this AU, though as a twist of that same fate, Ingo is the one to try & save Ansy on this timeline. ;u;

Like in his canon timeline, Ikrit spent a lot of time traveling around the various regions, & while in Kitakami, he met Ingo (maybe at the Crystal Pool, maybe in Mossui - not sure). The results of that meeting, & his own research he conducted in Sinnoh (ever the researcher), is what led him to smuggling himself & his Pokémon with Ingo to frozen Unova.

Ingo told him to look for Ansy while he went to Gear Station, probably saying something like, “If you find her…bring her with you.” He’d have come with him, but it could be that he didn’t have the heart to, in case what Ikrit found was awful ;u;

always remember that they made the choice to see what life was like without you. always remember that even if they might have “loved” you, their idea of love wasn’t enough for them to consider your feelings.

people leave our life and leave words unsaid with such cowardice that we shouldn’t even want to rekindle such a futile fire. it will only give you warmth for a little while… and then the spark is gone.

if they’re not going to work on making you feel warmth and feel held the same way you do for them, then there’s nothing to talk about.

and trust me, you don’t need to figure out a “get back”. stop trying to be seen and heard by someone who played themselves by playing you. one day, the universe will deal them a nasty hand as a lesson. let God’s vengeance and plan outweigh your ego.

Excerpts: [First stints] The opening stint saw graining and high degradation for all runners and lap times rose sharply from around Lap 10 onwards. On Lap 14 [Norris] was called to box for new hard tyres. He then emerged behind Ocon – and Ferrari saw a small opportunity to cover him, and so boxed Leclerc the next lap. Unfortunately for Leclerc, it didn’t work out for him and he was undercut by Norris. Leclerc’s complaints on the radio at stopping to emerge behind the McLaren were met with reassurance that the race was most likely a two-stop, and it was the correct point to box. Piastri then covered both one lap later. In [Sainz’s] opening stint, he was too far behind Norris to attempt an undercut and Ferrari were still considering the one-stop possibility. Therefore Sainz pushed to extend as he thought it was too early to stop. Later, he reported that the graining was improving and lap times may recover. This was important information for Ferrari. Sainz was then called to pit before being undercut by Hamilton so the lap time improvement was crucially not seen by the other teams. [Second stints] As graining emerged on the hard tyre for all three leaders, [they had to decide] when to stop for the final set of hards. Piastri was asked if he thought a one-stop might be possible, but said no. [On Lap 32,] Leclerc is given the ‘box to overtake’ call on Norris as Ferrari looked to attempt an undercut. But Norris then pitted, prompting Leclerc to stay out. He was then told they will extend the stint to build a tyre delta. In the second stint running in largely free air, Sainz pushed Ferrari discussion on the one-stop strategy possibility. The pit wall and Sainz discussed whether they should cover Hamilton’s second pit stop or remain on the one-stop option – with Sainz favouring the latter after reporting that his tyres were still good. At this point the information is given to Leclerc that Sainz is targeting a one-stop strategy. Leclerc agrees that it is the best opportunity to win and immediately begins work on the tyre saving required to pull it off. [McLaren third stints vs Ferrari staying out] [Having boxed with 15 laps remaining,] Piastri needed to average 1.5 seconds per lap quicker [than his pre-stop pace] to make the pit stop beneficial. His first lap after the pit stop was indeed 1.5 seconds faster than before. However, he had five back-markers to overtake as well as Sainz. The back-markers cost variable amounts of lap time and Sainz then cost Piastri around two seconds of race time – which is crucial when considering Piastri only finished 2.6 seconds behind Leclerc at the flag. So although Leclerc then took the plaudits and the glory on the Monza podium, he couldn’t have pulled off such a famous victory without the help of his Ferrari team mate.

okay whatever lmao, yea ive decided to break my tags out into its own post cuz even if no one else thinks so, *I* think I kinda went off with the pieta line lol. Anyway this is inspired by cicer's post abt how cool & sexy it would have been for Q to kill someone personally in order to protect Bond (hard agree btw)

But yeah so basically: this would be soo VERY unhygienic, but-- I'm picturing something disgustingly brutally visceral, like both of them are caught out and Bond is down and the bad guy is about to shoot him or whatever, but all Q can get his hands on is something sharp (giant shard of glass, metal shrapnel, whatever). And ofc the bad guy underestimated Q so he's not really watching his six cuz like what's this scrawny guy going to do to him?

Anyway said "scrawny guy" comes out and bodies him away from Bond so Bond's no longer in line of fire, and then brutally stabs the guy in the neck with his whatever sharp thing (massive shard of glass, metal shrapnel, whatever). The bad guy ofc gurgles his way off this mortal coil or whatever.

Bond (designated head-wound and/or blunt force trauma haver) has a moment to be stunned by this unexpected turn of events, then wobbles his way up and secures the gun. And then stumbles his way over to his Quartermaster, who is ofc covered in blood --- (very visibly/viscerally and literally bathed in the blood of their enemies; but ALSO the blood is a very primal marker of the sheer lengths to which Q will go to keep his agents (him) safe).

and Q is still holding it together in the moment- he can have his emotional collapse about it when they're safe - so Bond is the one who like. collapses into Q's arms (aforementioned maybe head wound or blunt force trauma and is still kinda woozy about it) and it's very sweet and touching, and also gross because of the blood, but also! very sweet

the key here is also: imagine being one of the exfil team guys when they arrive at this scene lmao. imagine what would be going through their minds:

the Quartermaster (known noncombatant) is sitting there covered in blood, holding 007 who is collapsed in his arms like a Pietà…. only to be told "oh no haha, none of this is mine! but 007 is injured, please see to him before he can die about it, again"

absolute pandemonium in the rumor mill.

but anyway anyway- after they're safe & Q can clean up, he can have his faintly "oh. hm. it's a bit different when you're doing it in person, huh..." And then Bond can be like, come here, and haul him up to his hospital bed and insist on Cuddles.

another positivity post!

i said i will not post off top untill new art post because it's originally my art blog bla bla bla but!!! BUT!!!

I AM 26 AND IT'S FIRST TIME I MADE THIS DISH!! and it's my first complicated dish, which i didn't know the pipeline and cooked by recipe!

IT'S SMTH LIKE PANCAKES FROM PLACE I WAS BORN AND it always seemed to me like smth from adult cooking!!! like i've maybe did the flip part at childhood but never the dough! and today i woke up early in the morning and it was raining and it was so cozy and i just decided to try and!!!! i did it!!! and it didn't even took the whole day, i am usually waking up at time atm, but look at me, seating and eating this!!!

i can't belive it, i am!!! adult!!! who is curing from depression!!!

Ube ice cream (got full and gave some to my dad)

Felt really motivated today so for the first time in a sparse while I ate lunch!! Yay! I’m really proud of myself!

I had two (2!!) halves of a bagel with pepper cream cheese & a giant strawberry cut into thirds on one half, and half a small avocado mashed w salt on the other half!! + a bit of honey! :D

I know for a fact I would *never* have let myself have a bagel or cream cheese a year ago, which makes me sad :(

I feel like slightly younger me really needed some energy and a comforting meal, but she didn’t grant herself that :((

I’m glad now I’ve got the energy to dance around the kitchen blasting Good Luck, Babe while prepping my weirdly huge strawberries :)))

i had a win in the fight with my eating disorder (which my therapist doesn't find alarming at all btw) i treated myself to fresh strawberries for the first time in over a year!! and these are the best strawberries i've ever had :')
